Captain Glen Ballou has been cruising and racing sailboats for over 50 years. He has over 20,000 blue water miles delivering sail and power yachts ranging from 30 foot fiberglass sailboats to 130 foot steel converted fishing trawlers between Maine, Bermuda, the Virgin and Leeward Islands, and Florida. Glen holds a Master Coast Guard license.

Glen worked for the Pratt and Whitney Division, Sikorsky Aircraft Division, and corporate office of United Technologies Corporation for 35 years, designing electronic circuits, and managing, designing and setting up trade shows around the world. He was responsible for the design of sound and audio-visual for all divisions of the corporation.

He is the author/editor of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th edition of the 1800 page “Handbook for Sound Engineers”, the author of many articles on sound and acoustics, and the author of the chapter “Capacitors and Inductors” in “The Electrical Engineering Handbook”.

First mate and cook extraordinaire, Debbie Ballou, is always there to make you comfortable and feel at home. Debbie has been sailing with Glen for over 25 years.

Debbie worked for United Technologies Corporation for eight years and now owns her own bookkeeping business. Because of her love of cooking and entertaining, she continues to work with the top two shoreline caterers in Connecticut during the summer months, serving many celebrities including the president of Yale University, Paul McCartney and Tony Blair. Debbie has privately catered numerous events, taken many cooking classes and is active in gourmet groups.
