Captain Robert Bredeck
Robert began sailing at age 8 in Michigan, where he came of age,
and completed his education with a Masters Degree in English Literature

in Denver, Colorado and travel abroad where he came to live and
rediscover his sailing roots in St. Thomas in 2002. Robert holds

Spain, Morrocco and Madeira.
Chef/Hostess/Artist Katia Andreeva
Katia was born in the little town of Arsenev on the Pacific Ocean
side of Russia. After intensive schooling in her youth, Katia qualified
to enter the Academy of Art and Design in St. Petersburg, Russia.
In 1994 she moved to Minnesota and became an accomplished and prolific
artist. Her work has earned numerous awards with its exquisite detail
and masterful use of color. Katia’s projects include book
illustrations, art exhibitions, and teaching watercolor classes.
Katia’s artistic abilities, entertaining qualities, and love
for cooking is evident as they come together aboard IRIE. Her culinary
skills in the galley earned working in an upscale restaurant in
Russia. They will bring much delight to the guests as they savor
the creative international flair in each dish she prepares.
* Katia will be offering watercolor classes to quests during their
stay on IRIE.
1st Mate Derek Hall
Derek, your host aboard Irie, looks forward to extending a warm
welcome to his guests. Derek has spent the past five years working
in the service industry. While he thoroughly enjoys all aspects
of this industry, his true passion lies in the hands-on experience
of dealing directly with the customer, ensuring that they are catered
to at the highest level of standards and that their expectations
are not only met, but exceeded.
Those who encounter Derek would describe him as personable, easy-going,
and very attentive to detail. His obvious care and interest in others
will make his guests feel right at home the moment they step aboard.
Derek’s love of the water began while living in the “Land
of 10,000 Lakes”. This lure of the water is what led him to
the islands and to IRIE. While his current passion is sailing, other
interests include snorkeling, water skiing, kayaking, and fishing.
Derek is currently working on his PADI Open Water certification
and aspires to gain his instructor certification.
