MERVYN TWILLEY-Captain
Mervyn, was born and raised in South Africa and joined the Merchant Marine Industry at the age of 21. He has sailed extensively in South African waters and was actively involved during the construction of a 133' sailing yacht built in Cape Town. Mervyn has many Ocean miles under his keel, both as a Captain and Crew, delivering yachts from South Africa to the USA and England, where he obtained his Captain's licence. Mervyn has been employed in the professional yachting industry for many years and brings a wealth of experience to Shalimar.

ANTHONY BANTOFT-Chef
Anthony hails from down under, and trained as chef in Australia, where he also owned and ran restaurants. He has traveled the world and gained exposure to various culinary styles, and has extensive knowledge in Japanese, Indian, Thai, and French cuisine, as well as modern western styles. A very versatile chef, Anthony would be delighted to tailor a menu to your personal tastes and dietary requirements, and his cooking is guaranteed to make your holiday a memorable one.

MARK WEBB-Engineer
Mark was born and raised in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. He is a certified diving instructor and a memeber of the South African deep-sea angling association and holds a Department of Transport skipper's license. Mark is also a certified NAUI dive instructor. He started off on a sport fishing boat as the mate but with hsi engineering background decided to pursue a career in engineering, which he has been doing for the past 3 years. Shalimar is very happy to have him.

DARREL HEARNE-Mate
Darrel grew up in sunny South Africa, where he lived and worked until recently. He holds degrees in acturial science, accounting and company law. Having worked in the corporate enviroment for a number of years, he recently decided to "get a life" , as he puts it and joined the mega-yacht industry. A seasoned sailor, he has his Yachtmaster Ocean skipper's ticket. Darrel is also a keen diver, and will be one of your dive masters on board. He loves any excuse to get out on the water, and would be more than happy to assist you with any of the water-sport activities we offer.

CAROLINA SIVLA-Stewardess
Our Stewardess, Carolina, was born and raised in Brazil. She's fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, English and is looking forward to learning French. Besides her love for traveling and meeting new people, she loves her profession on board Shalimar, where she will tend to your every need. With her service and entertainment skills, plus her happy and positive personality, Carolina will ensure that your vacation aboard Shalimar is an unforgettable and pleasurable experience.

CORRINNE HEARNE-Stewardess
Corrinne was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. She studied both public relations and interior decorating, and then combined the two by running her own successful furniture and appliance retail business for thirteen years. Looking for a change of pace, a career in sailing was a natural choice, given her love of water sports (she is an avid water-skier and diver) and her sailing skills-she as a coastal skipper's ticket. A real people's person, she will do out of her way to make your stay aboard a memorable one.

PAUL SEGGIE-Deckhand
Paul carries on our proud tradition of a well-educated crew-having studied psychology, philosophy, and theology, he is well-qualified to scrub or decks! Another South African, he loves sun and sea, which is just as well because this job provides plenty of both. Paul is eager to assist wherever he can, and no job to too much effort-just ask him should you want to use any of our water sport equipment.
