Island 58' Voyage Catamaran
Fantasy Island raises the bar for affordable luxury charters! This exciting new 58' catamaran's sleek lines, high tech construction and ultra-modern interior have earned her the prestigious award of "Best Cruising Catamaran of 2003" from Cruising World Magazine, and she sails just as fast as she looks!
Clever design gives Fantasy Island more useable space than other yachts of her size, allowing her to accommodate up to 10 guests in air-conditioned staterooms with queen- sized beds and vacuum-flush toilets. Four of these cabins are very large and the fifth is smaller but still adequate. Her crew of three occupies two additional cabins with their own head and shower.
Each guest cabin has a flat screen LCD TV and a Sony Playstation2, which enables you to enjoy a library of more than 100 DVD movies, listen to your choice of more than 150 CDs or play video games including Tiger Woods golf and NFL Football. Two cabins can be configured with twin beds by making one half of the (split) mattress eight inches higher than the other half, making Fantasy Island equally suited to couples or families.
The salon is open and spacious and includes the galley with serving counter, a bar and comfortable seating where you can watch a movie on the larger flat-screen TV with Bose sound system, listen to some good music, or just relax in air-conditioned comfort. There’s also full-time Internet access and a phone for your convenience. At night, recessed LED lighting provides a dramatic effect. Just aft of the salon is the cockpit area with dining tables on both sides. The cockpit has a permanent, carbon-fiber bimini overhead to protect you from the sun, and the entire cockpit area can be enclosed in the event of rain. The cockpit is at deck level so you don’t need to climb in or out of the cockpit – you just walk through the open aft entry area. The salon is open and spacious and includes the galley with serving

Each hull has wide stern steps leading down to the water for swimming or diving with a fold-down stainless steel ladder, and you can also enter the dinghy easily, thanks to the design of the boarding platform, which is the same height as the dinghy’s inflatable tubes. A fresh-water hot and cold shower is located at each stern platform so that you can rinse after swimming. Sun lovers particularly enjoy the large bow trampolines and seats built into the bow railing each side. This is a very popular spot both at anchor and under sail. Directional Bose speakers mounted up on the mast can play music for your enjoyment. Due to the massive sails, there’s usually some shade from the sun on one side of the boat or the other when under way. Fantasy Island has twin engines for reliability under power, two generators to assure you of electricity whenever needed, and a large (70 gallons per hour) water maker to provide an uninterrupted water supply throughout your charter. She points higher into the wind than most monohulled sailboats and sails faster than they do, all without noticeable heel and without the fuss of a conventional sailboat. Her performance never ceases to surprise experienced charter guests (and the other boats as you pass them!) Fantasy Island 's Crew
Peter and Colleen Leube
In the late 70's Pete formed a salvage diving operation operating along the South African coast, and also built ski boats to order. He was a director and shareholder of a company manufacturing food-processing equipment, then purchased/managed a Game Farm and also started various other manufacturing businesses in Zimbabwe, all of which were acquired by the government in 2002 without any compensation to him. Peter then briefly ran fishing and pleasure charters and a Bed and Breakfast for tourists in Mozambique before his love of the sea prompted him to sail to the Caribbean and work as a charter captain. He is a qualified Radio and Radar Technician, an RYA Yacht Master with Ocean endorsement, is STCW95 certified, and is a PADI Dive Master (which he will upgrade to Instructor before the start of the charter season). He particularly enjoys sailing, fishing, diving and target shooting. Colleen is 47 and holds dual citizenship in Zimbabwe and South Africa. She worked in the travel industry for many years, and met Peter when he rented a car from her while she was employed by Avis. They have been a couple ever since and she has worked alongside Peter in all of his varied business ventures. She holds a Competent Crew certificate, has accompanied Peter on many of his yacht deliveries, and cooked on the charter yachts that he's operated. She particularly enjoys decorating, cooking, entertaining and the outdoors, and has her STCW95 and open water diving certifications. Peter and Colleen are a delightful couple that come to Fantasy
Island highly recommended. We have no doubt that they will continue
the tradition of hospitality, fine food and five-star service for
which Fantasy Island has become known for. While they prefer to
work alone as a team, they will employ a third crewmember as needed.
