Brian Massy and Jennifer Floyd
captain and crew

Captain Brian Massy has spent the last fifteen years on the island of Maui. The first six of these he was Chef in a local restaurant. One day a friend asked him to help with a sailing charter. A Captain was born. Brian says “That day I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life on the water.” He hired on with a glass bottom boat excursions as a SCUBA diver. The glass bottom boat company also owned “America II”, a 12 meter racing yacht that raced in the Americas Cup in Freemantle, Australia. She took 2nd place being bested by “Stars and Stripes" in the 7th race by 28 seconds. Brian feels lucky to have been able to crew aboard her. He was now hooked on sailing.

Having spent the last few years aboard a 55’ catamaran “Kiele V” out of Maui left Brian plenty of time to surf, dirt bike, become part of chase team for Baja 1000 and take a cross country road trip. He has relocated to St. Thomas and spent the last three months exploring the wonderful secret locations our more experienced Captains have shown him. Brian holds a 100 Ton USCG Masters License and is trained in First Aid and CPR.

Chef Jennifer “Jen” Floyd arrives in St. Thomas from Cocoa Beach, Florida. Raised in a close southern family she was encouraged to earn her degree in Mechanical Engineering. She worked in many different restaurant environments throughout college and learned to cook not only with precision but with a dose of love as well. Work in an engineering firm was confining. Jen started a successful catering business in South Florida then decided to try her luck in the Caribbean to work towards a goal of PADI Dive Master. We feel it was our luck to add Jen to our crew aboard Catatonic. She loves to fish, swim, dive, snorkel, play racket ball. As Jen says ”Just add water and it’s magic”.

So come aboard and enjoy the adventures only the Caribbean can offer with Capt. Brian and Jen.
